First Olive Oil Sale!

Greetings everyone!
I'm pleased to report that our first Olive Oil sale was a huge success. We sold 48 bottles at Park Church and will continue to have bottles available over the next few weeks.
The oil we are selling is from Holy Land Olive Oil - an amazing company that works with the farmers in the West Bank to assist them in getting their crops to harvest. I encourage you to check out their website to learn more about this product.

I will be reaching out to other UCC churches in West Michigan in the next few months to host other olive oil sales, but if you'd like to purchase a bottle just send me an email or give me a call at 616.633.7975 and I'll get some out to you ASAP! The oil is $25 per bottle and you can mail any checks directly to the church. All of the proceeds go to support the Summer Ministry 2008 playground in Bethlehem.

On another note - Emily, Evan and I are getting ready to register for our Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician courses at NOLS in the Rocky Mountains! This is a month-long EMT training program that I will be attending shortly before I depart for the West Bank. I'm incredibly excited to be able to spend some quality time with my sister and my cousin, jumping out of helicopters, rescuing people from rockslides and attending Northern Outdoor Leadership School! I've included a link to the WEMT program in the sidebar on the right.
Blessings and Peace to all of you during this Holiday Season!

Grace and Peace! This summer we have been offered an incredible opportunity - the chance to bring joy (and a new playground) to the children of Bethlehem, Palestine. The Fund for Theological Education has awarded me a Ministry Fellowship for the summer of 2008. I have chosen to use this money to travel to Bethlehem where I will study Arabic and construct a playground in collaboration with Playgrounds for Palestine. The funds I have received from the FTE will cover the cost of travel, housing, and my immersion courses at the Siraj Center for Holy Land studies - as well as an initial payment toward the installation of the playground. I am seeking partners to help finance the remaining cost of the construction of a new playground facility for the children of the city which will be my home for the summer of 2008.

I encourage you to explore the links I've listed here, and please don't hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions - dannison@gmail.com.

Please note - the link on the right will take to you to a page on the Playgrounds for Palestine website that has been specially set up to receive donations for this project.
